DEEP Equity Now Recap with Touro: University
Dr. Ononuju and Dr. Cobb will recap the Deep Equity series and what has been learned over the 5 sessions. Their discussion will explore the impacts of the various sessions on the CA and NY communities, how we can implement some of the lessons learned into our communities now and what are the next steps moving forward. Ultimately, this discussion will answer whether or not we have a better understanding of DEEP Equity and if the series has lived up to its mandate for Equity Now.

DEEP Equity and Culturally Responsive Leadership with Touro: University
Is equity the latest iteration of cultural responsiveness or is it a totally separate and unique concept? In this session we are looking at how equitable leadership is also culturally responsive leadership. Drs. Syene Cooper and Chris Smith will help us talk about how these two types of leadership play out in an urban school environment, as well as how we can teach our students to lead in this way.

DEEP Equity and Neurodiversity with Touro: University
here is no one “right” way of thinking, learning and behaving. As we continue to learn about neurodiversity and incorporate it’s considerations in our teaching and communication, how we do equity, must emphasized. Dr. Niki Elliott, Co-Director of the Center for Neurodiversity, Learning, and Wellness, will join us for this conversation. With over 25 years in the game, Dr. Elliot’s understanding of holistic education, educational neurobiology, social-emotional well-being and mind-body wellness practices means that she doesn’t just talk the talk, but she is doing and living out equity in her practice everyday. In this conversation, she will help us to understand how we can do the same, as we continue to explore DEEP Equity Now
