Exploring the Bay and Beyond
Vallejo is home to some of the most unique experiences for those traveling to or living in Vallejo. One of the added benefits to staying and living in Vallejo is our Ferry Terminal which allows us access to hop on the San Francisco Bay Ferry and take a glide across the San Pablo Bay while taking in the sweet & salty air the Bay has to offer. Upon arriving in San Francisco, your senses are delighted and welcomed by the sights , smells and sounds of what is shaping up to be a full day of memorable experiences.
Our closest friends all over San Francisco have been hard at work getting things ready for the return of tourism. At Pier 39, which is home to some amazing and thrilling experiences, a stone's throw away from the greatest clam chowder and our buddies who've been hard at work keeping their tanks operational and caring for marine life that calls them home, the Aquarium of the Bay.
For most of the last year, the aquarium has found new and exciting ways for their visitors to attend virtually and connect. Now that their doors are open again and they want to invite you to come visit all of your favorite ocean dwelling amigos once again!
Upon arrival you may find yourself moved by the elegance and delicate nature of how these sea dwellers exist, but you may soon quickly realize a consistent narrative that is having a profound effect on the planet, causing their homes to be in danger. Climate change has of course been threatening many of the ecosystems where these creatures reside. With this unfortunate reality and looming threat, Aquarium of the Bay is poised to help any way they can.
And planned they have. They’ve organized an opportunity that could be yours for the taking. They are extending an invitation for a once in a lifetime opportunity for Explorations of the habitats of marine life in person with real Marine Biologists! They will teach you how to dive and give you an introduction to marine biology, where you can also see climate change as it's happening and ponder solutions to help save the biggest pond of all. It’s a week long, and it offers an experience that is luxurious, informative, and all for a good cause. The experts inform the visitors with a wide array of science and biological experiences in locations all over the world. From the Florida Keys to Mexico, you get to literally dive into the frontlines of where these efforts for conservation and restoration are taking place.
There is a huge difference in what this program offers compared to other diving expeditions, this program is guided through experience, where the science leads the diving expedition and the informative expertise of these biologists will guide you in the process as they perform their research. At the end of the day, this is a call to action to help inform and educate while enjoying that once in a lifetime experience to work with the leaders in the fight against climate change and marine conservation, all while providing you a once in a lifetime chance to aid that fight and enjoy a trip to one of these amazing locations in the process.
