Groovemasters features three of the six members of BeaufunK, Wilson Brooks (drums and vocals), Lorenzo Hawkins (keys), and Timm Walker (bass and vocals). The three, having toured with several major touring and recording artists collectively, are much more than enough to keep audiences on their feet. Add to it the tasteful and funky guitar playing of Charles Spikes, who toured with both Lenny Williams and Tony! Toni! Toné!, and you have a unit that is seasoned and well-versed in rhythm and blues, funk, gospel, and most any other genre you could name. Most of all, they groove like very few can - thus the name, Groovemasters.
