JOIN IN HONORING OUR VETERANS
Touro University California will host its annual Veteran's Day celebration from noon until 1 pm, Nov. 11, at the Farragut Inn Grove on campus
This event is free, and all are welcome to join us as we celebrate the men and women who have kept our country safe throughout the years.
Following a welcome address, the festivities will include:
The posting of colors
Playing of the National Anthem
Message from Senior Vice President of Touro Shellely Berkley
An address from Provost and CEO, Dr. Sarah Sweitzer
Greetings from Vallejo City Vice Mayor Rozzana Verder-Allga
An address from keynote speaker, Touro University California Joint MSPAS/MPH alum and Army National Guard CPT Keith Jackson
After those addresses, Dr. Michael Barbour will recite the famous World War I poem, In Flanders Field, followed by the placing of a wreath.
“Veterans Day is a great time for the Touro family to recognize and honor the military heritage of our Mare Island home, but to also show our appreciation for the many veterans who are among the ranks of our students, faculty, and staff,” Dr. Sweitzer said. “We appreciate the sacrifice that comes with a military commitment for both the servicemember and their families.”
