Papa Joe & The New Deal are coming to the Pioneer Tap Room on April 16th, 2022. This band will get you on your feet all afternoon with their mix of dance songs. The band is primarily an old-school group, but they can tailor their sets to fit whoever shows up. That can run the gamut from millennials to baby boomers.
“We play everything from old James Brown to Bruno Mars and everything in-between. We usually have a set list, but between Ed and myself and my son, we may throw out a curve ball as to what to play next depending on the crowd,” Lucero said. “At heart, the old guys in the band are old-school funksters because that’s what we grew up listening to and playing, but we play new stuff, too. We always give it our own take so it’s nice and breathable for everyone.”
Papa Joe & The New Deal enjoy throwing out some medleys to keep the music pumping. The band often blends three to four songs together. “We give you a lot of bang for your buck,” Lucero said. There’s some Motown, Tower of Power, Commodores, Malo, War, and Earth, Wind and Fire, to name a few. “It’s a funky eclectic mix.”
The Pioneer Tap Room offers 18 beers on tap in its Suisun Valley tasting room, which includes brews from its own Pioneer label and other locally-owned breweries. Pioneer also serves wine, cider and food. Pioneer Taproom is an old local gem; a fruit market repurposed to a beer and wine bar/restaurant that serves food, daily! Comfort foods made with local fresh fruits and vegetables served daily!
