Tony Macaroni grew up in New York and comes from a musical family. His mother was an opera singer and instructor and his father was a jazz clarinetist/saxophonist. Music played non-stop in his home. Tony’s training was not formal, he learned from recordings ad played in all kinds of bands: rock, jazz, Disco, Salsa – this was his conservatory. After touring around the country, he found work as a freelance pianist. Tony has recorded and gigged with a multitude of well-known musical artists, including Bonnie Raitt, The Whispers, Bill Champlin, Robben Ford, Zigaboo Modeliste, Taj Mahal, Todd Rundgren, Boz Scaggs, Eddie Money, James Cotton, Otis Clay, Carla Thomas, Syl Johnson, Elvin Bishop, Little Anthony & The Imperials, The Coasters, Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith, Neil Schon, Abraxus, Booker T Jones, Johnny Johnson, Richard Berry, Zakiya Hooker, Snooks
