How many of you have been directly affected or know someone who has been affected by violence? We can sometimes feel insulated from much of the troubles we see in the news. What would you do if someone very close to you was taken at the hands of another person? The hope is that none of us ever have to experience that. However, we know there are families very near us who are dealing with this kind of emotional pain. Imagine for a moment the anguish of a mother or father whose child was taken from them while at school by way of a violent act. Imagine for a moment the despair of a child whose grandmother was taken from them while at church. It is important for us to remember this kind of despair is present in our communities on a daily basis. It may seem at times we are helpless to many of the things that happen in our communities, but we want to encourage everyone that we are not.
The show coming this Sunday, July 17th at the Journey Downtown Theatre in Vacaville is an opportunity for us to participate in a work that directly helps support those who are on the front lines of violence prevention and victim's advocacy. A simple click of your mouse can make a difference. Even if you are unable to attend the show, sharing this post and offering a small donation will help make a difference. Someone seeing your shared post could be directly dealing with the pain of losing a loved one to a violent act. Please help us help those in need, and we hope to see all of you at the show!
