Mare Island Art Studios and Causing Cultural Anarchy is pleased to present our “Birthing a Vision of a New World” gallery exhibit

Whatever we put attention to pushes us into the next generation. If you were to live in an ideal world and were given no limitations, what would it look like? What would you want to eliminate? What would you cure? What would you transform?

We all share in the pains of a pandemic, nationalism, fascism, misogyny, racism, climate change, and much more. Even though these are continuing to cause suffering and irreparable damage to the people and environment of Earth, we need to share visions of the future to exemplify as what we want to create through progress.

About Causing Cultural Anarchy:

This is the fourth annual Causing Cultural Anarchy show. As artists, we sometimes create art that dares us, scares us, and pushes personal, communal, and cultural boundaries. These daring pieces threaten the norms of our own beliefs, as well as culture in general. We may be afraid to share them due to prior rejection and scorn, personal fear of what sharing something very personal can reveal to others, fear of public reactions, and many other valid reasons. This art show is for those pieces!

Artists are encouraged to share works that are political, satirical, objectionable, daring, anti-establishment, personal, sexuality-defining, gender-defining and challenging, outside of definition, and works that have capabilities of challenging viewers’ comfort and taste.
